I learned about fine woodwork as a student of Dan Valenza at UNH and worked for another 8 years as his technician and sometime adjunct faculty. I apprenticed with Jon Brooks in 1987. I am self-taught in other areas of wood working, turning, carving. I have also always been a teacher of all these things both privately and at fine craft schools. I have worked a lot as a demonstrator and visiting artist. I am a maker. I make things with intention, an emphasis on craftsmanship, design and a celebration of the material. Each piece is unique and comes from the heart and spirit of the maker whether it is a commissioned piece or a new wooden spoon for home and therein lies its value.
