When I was about nine years old my family became interested in collecting minerals. We would travel to old mines and collecting sites in our old station wagon bringing home so much rock that the tailgate was low to the ground and my knees were very high because more specimens were placed under my feet. This hobby evolved into lapidary work and eventually I became interested in making jewelry using the stones I cut. I took classes at Manchester Institute of Art, and studied many books on the craft to hone my skills. My jewelry is hand-fabricated using metal wire and sheet and I enjoy exploring the possibilities when using different techniques in my designs.
