| I grew up in the farmland of upstate New York and went to Rhode Island to attend RISD, achieving a BFA in Illustration. I now live on the Mascoma river in Canaan, New Hampshire. At my studio, I sculpt in stoneware clay. Forming each animal by hand. Each figure is approximately 3” x 2” x 5”. I try for a heightened sensitivity to movement in the animal as it takes shape. There is a quality in each of my pieces that captures not only physical attributes, but shows their personality as well. The glazing combinations I have formulated achieve results both convincing and artistic. |
