The art of basket making through the use of reed, has been a passion of mine for many, many years. From the initial stages of being introduced to this skill to the present day, I have continually been inspired by the learning process that weaving offers. Intricate patterns are incorporated into my creations through the use of colored reed that I have personally dyed. Introducing twills and quatrefoil designs into my most recent work has presented both challenge and an interest in further design exploration. Everything I make is woven free hand without the use of molds. This results in no two baskets being exactly alike, making each one unique in shape and one of a kind.
