Dawn Blanchard lives on a small farm in Henniker, NH where her connection with nature is the source from which she muses, draws and creates prints. As a printmaker she works primarily in mezzotint and solar etching. Mezzotint is method of creating an image on copper plate using hand tools. Solar etching is creating an image on light sensitive polymer plate using a hand drawn or painted transparency. After the plates are complete and edition of prints is pulled on an etching press. Plates are hand inked and pressed onto paper to create lasting works of art.
