Bob Englund, the Granite Lake Woodturner, has found woodturning to be a perfect retirement avocation. For ten years, he has been participating at TSATF (The Shop at the Fair) at the Sunapee Craft Fair, and he has shown his work in all of the League Galleries. In addition he has served on both the TSATF and the Gallery Committees.
He makes lamps from cordwood (fireplace wood), intentionally choosing wood with interesting grain patterns, spaulting, knots, segments of bark, and untouched surface created by the woodsplitter. In addition, Bob turns hollow vases, bud-vases, bowls (live-edge and traditional), lidded boxes, and ornaments.
