Betty Lathrop

I began Harborside Fabric Design twenty-seven years ago, although my experience with surface design began in my school years. I taught art and special ed at pre-school through University levels. After beginning with hand painted scarves, I began making matching jewelry and now also make wall hangings and multi layered framed pieces. Both my realistic and abstract designs are reflections of my own gardens and my travels around New England waterways. Each piece is of original design, is individually hand painted and signed. My work is shown in shops and galleries across the country. I enjoy teaching and demonstrating silk painting as time allows.
