My passion for needlework and design began over 25 years ago, when I was given my grandmothers antique sewing machine. Thereafter I committed much of my youth learning how to sew with this beautiful instrument. I was fortunate to spend some time apprenticing alongside an esteemed New York City costume designer for theater and ballet. This was a pivotal time in my life, where my sewing techniques developed and matured. Having been influenced with an old world approach much of my work from this moment on would be done by hand. This slow & tedious process has allowed me to produce couture quality pieces. This high standard has remained the most important basis within my company Olive’s Atelier.
