Peggy Church began studying textiles in the seventies, first learning to spin, then learning to weave. It began when missing spinning wheel parts were discovered in the attic of her husband’s ancestral home. Today Peggy weaves textiles for the home, as well as art to wear. Chenille scarves are based on works of master painters. She paints silk warp yarns with natural dyes that become one-of-a-kind scarves. She teaches both spinning and weaving in her CT studio. She provides pieces to League shops, and participates in open studios in CT, www.aosct.org . She runs spinning bees and teaches weaving for the Windham Textile History Museum.
