In 2016 Linda Mahoney was an Artist in Residence at Acadia National Park in Maine for the month of June and this was a tremendous experience for her to be able to immerse herself in the coastal landscape. She continues to paint at various locations in Downeast Maine. Some of these watercolor paintings are the studies for her woodblock prints which she creates in her Northfield, MA studio from the fall into spring. Since retiring from teaching in 2016, she has had more time to pursue making larger and more complex woodblock prints. In 2011 she began to exhibit and sell her woodblock prints at outdoor art shows in New England and has received several awards.
