My mother, a before-her-time organic gardener, picked bugs off crops and kept a barn full of animals including thirty barn cats. In the morning I carefully carried trays of warm milk and cat food through the long shed to the barn as dozens of cats wove between my skinny kid legs. Due to an imagination fueled by library books and 60’s era television, I envisioned myself a lone cowboy encircled by rampaging Indians. Paper is the common element in all of my work. I like giving refuse – made either by mother nature or human ingenuity – a second chance. I’m a Keene State College graduate, Co-founder of Monadnock Art and the Annual Open Studio Art Tour, an I-Park fellow, and a self-employed picture framer since 1989. New Hampshire has been my home since 1959.
