Kerstin Nichols jewelry and sculpture can be found in the permanent Collection of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in NYC, in addition to other public and private collections. She holds an MFA in Sculpture, and has taught metalsmithing for close to 3 decades. My jewelry relies on the most fundamental of design elements; simple shapes, subtle textures, balance and rhythms that are pulled together to respond to the movement of the body who wears them, along with a careful attention to the quality of the materials and the craftsmanship that is necessary to enhance their design. It is of utmost importance to me that my work is not only beautiful and well made but designed to be a pleasure to wear.
