After graduating from UNH, Peter Happny got a job at Strawbery Banke in Portsmouth, NH. Within a short time, it became clear he could make many more things besides traditional ironwork. Almost 40 years later, Happny continues to produce functional and sculptural metalwork drawing from the demands of the style of architecture and the owner’s personality. It allows Peter to open himself to the forms and shapes the metal should take while keeping within the confines of the budget. Active with the League of NH Craftsmen for 37 years, Happny’s work may be found at all seven retail galleries. He teaches and demonstrates at schools and forging groups throughout the US and Europe.
