Event Description:
Join us at the League of NH Craftsmen – Center Sandwich Fine Craft Gallery on Monday, July 29th 2024 and Wednesday, July 31st 2024 from10:00 am – 2:00 pm for a Batik and Shibori – Exploring the Fabric Resist Dye Process Workshop with instructor Alison Parsons.
Come explore the wax resist process of Batik and Shibori. Using hot wax and dye, students will create layers of colored designs in their fabric by using wax resist and colorful dyes. Shibori is bound and tied, and then dyed in an indigo bath to create deep blue and white patterns. Some possible projects include cotton bandanas, dishtowels, or napkins which will be available for purchase.
Students can bring white cotton fabric or t-shirt, or may purchase items from the instructor.
Tuition is $70.00 per student. Materials fee is $25.00 for wax and dyes. The materials fee will be paid cash or check to the instructor on the day of class. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Registration form and full payment must be received at least 1 week prior to the class to ensure your place. Failure to make full payment may result in the loss of your space in the class.
