Medium: Leather

Taught by: Donlin Foreman & Jaya Lord

Course Description:

This workshop is a true introduction to the tools and techniques of leather craft. You will learn about the nature of vegetable tanned (veg tan) leather, the tanning process associated with it, and varieties of veg tan leather – including the type used in this project and why it was selected.

You will be introduced to the techniques of embossing, tooling, dying, and finishing – and the tools required to accomplish these aspects of leather work. You will leave with a finished Mini Travel Journal, complete with two small books; a lined one for writing and a blank one for sketching.

A brown bag lunch is recommended to ensure maximum time to complete your journal. Designed for leather craft beginners but all are welcome.
