Courses > Getting Reacquainted with the Art of Sewing

Medium: Fiber

Taught by: Joyce LeBlanc

Course Description:

Has it been awhile since you’ve sewn anything? Do you find yourself looking at beautiful handcrafted items and wonder how they achieve such results?

This workshop will allow you to  become reacquainted with your sewing machine as you revisit basic sewing techniques, the language of sewing and the correct tools to use – needles, threads, interfacing, fabrics, etc. to achieve greater sewing success. You will apply what you learn while making a simple bag. The focus will be on building confidence and belief that it is possible to achieve anything in sewing with some guidance and the right tools.

Along her sewing journey, Joyce has learned many tricks, shortcuts, tips, and creative ways to accomplish precision results and is eager to share them with you.

This workshop is for rusty advanced beginners or those who want to sharpen their intermediate skills. This workshop is not for beginners.

Students are asked to bring their own machines. If yours is not portable or you are “between” machines, contact us to discuss your options.

Materials Fee: $25 paid directly to the instructor on the day of the event. Space is limited to 5 students.
